- Always a metallic form of gold, whether it be bright gold, old gold, slightly greened or bronzed gold. The level of the metallic may vary.
- Always clutched in a golden shell.
- Personality varies from proud and arrogant to loving and kind. Not all are motherly. there is a rather great variety over all in their personalities. No one is quite sure what makes a Queen pick a particular rider.
- 55-60 feet
- Clutch 10 to 30 Eggs
- Rises as little as every four turns during an interval and every two during a pass.
- Always metallic and ranging in color from a true green-bronze color, a slightly golden bronze, a more brown bronze, and varying in the intensity of color and the overall light and dark tone of hide.
- Stereotypical bronzes are proud, arrogant, and hot-headed. However, they aren't always like this. A bronze could be a thinker, a father, or an absolute psychopath. Anything is possible.
- 50-55 feet
- Chase all colors, but typically catch golds
- Browns are the largest of the chromatic dragons and are still capable of occasionally chasing and catching queens. They are bulky dragons ranging in shades of brown.
- Browns have a reputation for either being hard workers or for being extremely lazy and laid back. Whatever the case, browns are wonderful dragons to have around.
- 45-50 feet
- Chase all colors, occasionally catch gold queens
- Blues range in color from a dark nearly midnight shade to a nearly white blue. They are light and build, built for speed rather than staying power.
- Blues are typically very empathetic and tend to make the best Search Dragons.
- 40-45 feet
- Can chase any color. Generally only catch greens.
- Greens are the smallest dragons currently in existance. They vary greatly in shades of green from neon to dark nearly brownish hues. They tend to have very little staying power, but excel at manuevering in the air.
- Greens can be anything from flighty and flirtatious to serious and determined. They probably vary the most in personality. They may be the most abundant color on Pern, but they are certainly not common, each one being extremely indivisual.
- 35-40 feet
- Typically rise once or twice a turn. Almost never clutch. If they do, typically will be one to five eggs with some duds.
- Typically chased by all colors, but caught by the smaller males.
